We are currently working with a medical software company who is revolutionising healthcare for over 9 million patients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. They are expanding their team and looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to help them.

As an integral part of the development team, you will work together to improve all aspects of their SaaS platform which will include: deployment process, reliability, performance, tooling, developer/team happiness, and security.

Due to the nature of the business, our client takes security very seriously and ensures that all sensitive information never leaves the client-side unencrypted.

The team is very small and diverse; they are not looking to expand or hire aggressively as they prefer to give new employees time to become an organic part of the team.

  • Ensuring that the company’s infrastructure and services are functional

  • Improve the high-availability setup so there are no weaknesses in it

  • When an unforeseeable issue takes them down, you are able to work with the team to respond fast and address it in a way that with prevent the issue from reoccurring.

  • Perfect monitoring so that the team are the first to know if anything goes wrong

  • Test the business’ high availability in a controlled environment and mock emergency situations so that they are prepared for real incidents

  • Make the whole development team happier by working together on better tooling, improved performance, metrics visibility and insights, etc.

What is needed from you?

  • You recognise infrastructure as a code (they are using Chef)

  • Significant experience in managing Linux systems (our client is using Ubuntu on bare metal servers)

  • Experience with deploying and monitoring large scale web applications is a plus (Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Go, Redis, Elasticsearch, NodeJS, and others)

  • The ability to relax in your own time and feel confident that the service will be available and operational under foreseeable conditions

  • You are empathetic with a willingness to share, teach, and learn from colleagues, while being open to new perspectives and opinions.

Experience with every single technology is not essential if you are willing to learn and grow with the company.

Benefits of working here

  • An informal corporate atmosphere with team events

  • Paid-for breakfasts on Monday together

  • Sporting events e.g. beach volleyball matches, table football etc.

  • Up to €75,000 plus bonuses and benefits

  • The personal development of employees is supported by offering paid-for certifications and training, from new technologies to German language courses

  • The opportunity to work with and learn the latest technologies
